Ebonyi State University EBSU Work & Study Programme Admission Form 2017/18 is Out.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the EBSU Work and Study Programme (WASP) programmes for the 2017/2018 academic session. The programmes, which lead to the award of degrees in the areas of study approved for the WASP are listed in paragraph B (1-6) below.

A. GENERAL INFORMATION.
Work and Study Programme (WASP) is a weekend part-time studies Programme of Ebonyi State University designed to offer opportunities to talented, intelligent and qualified working adults in various fields of life endeavours to acquire University education without having to leave their jobs.

Recently, some administrative innovations have been introduced in WASP, targeted at improving its services to students, specifically in the areas of greater ease in fees payment by students, improved lecturer-students relationship, enhanced students welfare, increased efficiency in the management of students academic records, et cetera.
B. AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES IN WASP
The Departments/Programme options available for admission through WASP in Ebonyi State University in the 2017/2018 admission year include the following:

B.Sc. Nursing Science (For candidates with registered Nursing (RN) Certificate only).
C. GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Admission into the Work and Study Programme (WASP) requires (5) O’ Level Credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics at Ordinary Level (SSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB,) for All Courses. The O’ Level credit passes are to be obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.
D. PROGRAMME PLAN
The programme offered in each Department is the same as those of regular Programme. The only difference is the mode of entrance, and mode of study. The length of time a candidate spends in the programme before graduation depends on the level of qualification upon entrance, for instance. The study durations of courses under the Work and Study Programme are as obtainable in the part-time study programmes of other Universities as approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Thus, the following course durations apply in the WASP – EBSU:
O’ LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS
DURATION
a. SSSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB Other courses 5 years, Agric courses 6 years.
DIRECT ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
b. ND/NCE in the same discipline 4 years Agric course 5 years
c. HND in the same discipline 3 years
d. Registered (RN) Certificate 5 years
E. DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES
All direct entry candidates MUST;
(i) In addition to their Direct Entry qualifications, hold at least five (5) O’ level credit passes in the relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
(ii) Ensure that their academic transcripts are received latest two weeks after the close of sale of admission forms.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application forms are obtainable online on purchase of Five Thousand Naira (N5, 000.00) EBSU-WASP scratch card, payable to Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki Account Number: 200-2776-770 with First Bank PLC, Water Works Road Branch, Abakaliki.
CLOSING DATE:
Sale of application forms shall close on Thursday, August 31st 2017.
Processing of Admission forms begins on 5th September, 2017 and ends on 30th September 2017. Release of admission list and registration of fresh students to start by 3rd October, 2017 and end on 5th November, 2017.
G. ABOUT NYSC AND WASP GRADUANDS
Graduates of the Work and Study Programme (WASP) DO NOT participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), rather they are issued with Exclusion Certificate from NYSC at the end of their programme.

The close of the application is close so every interested students must expedite action in that regard.
